Kelvin Oppong's goal deny champions FC Samartex their second win of the season after a pulsating 1-1 draw against Bibiani Goldstars this afternoon in an outstanding GPL match-week 2 fixture.

The homesters with some early incursions as Ephson and Afful came so close in the opening minutes but had all their efforts blasted wide.

The Miners in the 13th minute tried launching an expected attack towards enemy territory but James Sewornu read the situation very well and had it checked.

In the 27th minute, FC Samartex were awarded a penalty after Michael Ephson was fouled in the box. Emmanuel Mamah stepped up and converted calmly to put them in front.

Back from recess, it was an explosive return for the visitors who attacked right from onset with Ronald Frimpong's cross which was aimed at Attah Kumi in the box cleared away by Sewornu once again.

Bibiani Goldstars were really on top and making all the attacks in search of the opener but the homesters were very well organized and resolute in defense to curb the threats.

The visiting side finally levelled the score on the 75th minute through defender Kelvin Oppong to save his club from their first defeat of the season.

It finished 1-1 after 90+10 minutes at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.

FC Samartex will travel to Nalerigu to face Karela United next while Bibiani Goldstars will also host Bechem United to the Dun's Park in the next round of games this weekend.
