Asante Kotoko secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nsoatreman FC in their rescheduled Ghana Premier League match on Wednesday afternoon at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.

The fixture, initially set for Matchday two of the 2024/25 season, had been postponed due to Nsoatreman's participation in the CAF Confederation Cup.

After a goalless first half, the Porcupine Warriors took the lead in the 47th minute through Elvis Kyei Baffour. Despite dominating possession, Kotoko were unable to extend their advantage.

The match took a dramatic turn in the 78th minute when Nsoatreman was reduced to 10 men after Daniel Amoo received a second yellow card and was sent off.

The win lifts Asante Kotoko to second place on the league table with 8 points after four games, while Nsoatreman FC remains in 15th place with 3 points.

In another rescheduled game, FC Samartex and Bibiani Gold Stars played out a 1-1 draw at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena. Emmanuel Mamah opened the scoring for Samartex in the 22nd minute, but Kelvin Oppong equalized for Gold Stars in the 75th minute.

The next round of fixtures, Matchday 5, is set to take place this weekend at various venues across the country.
