Ezekiel Alladoh’s dramatic late goal denied Karela United their first win of the season as Accra Lions fought back to earn a 1-1 draw in a thrilling encounter at the Naa Sheriga Stadium.
The hosts started strongly, taking the lead in the first half through Najib Fuseini, whose deflected strike found the net. Karela had earlier come close to scoring when Ibrahim Giyasu connected with a cross from Eric Antwi.
Despite Karela's lead at halftime, Accra Lions dominated the first half in terms of attempts, with notable efforts from Lucky Nwafor, Lawrence Setordjie, and Ali Mohammed.
After the break, Lions coach Ibrahim Tanko made a crucial substitution, bringing on Alladoh for Setordjie to inject more attacking energy. This proved effective as Bernard Kesse forced a remarkable save from Karela goalkeeper Ganiu Mohammed, followed by a header that was cleared off the line.
With time running out and Karela close to securing the win, Alladoh struck in the dying moments to level the score, earning a hard-fought point for Accra Lions.
