Karela have won three games in a row for the first time since August, 2024, following their 2-0 home victory over Karela United in the Premier League on Wednesday afternoon. The win is FC Samartex sixth Premier League of 2025.

The Timber Giants predictably dominated their struggling visitors, taking a deserved lead through Godwin Sefah midway in the second half.

Karela played on the seed of doubt which Samartex's poor form this season had planted, however, Sefah shaked off that mindset - notching in the 50th minute.

A burst of another goal on the cusp of full-time from 16-year-old Benedict Afful calmed the gently rising sense of tension in Nsenkyire Sports Arena, as the Timber Giants held on to claim three points which lifted them above Bechem United.

There was a collective sense of easing off from the Timber Giants during the closing stages, letting Karela maintain the illusion of still being in the contest. However, Chelsea eventually saw out a much-needed win which piles the pressure back on their opponents, who sit in the relegation zone (16th) with 28 points.
