FC Samartex were forced to a 1-1 draw by Dreams FC at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday, January 26, 2025, as their bid for a return to winning ways at home was thwarted by the visitors.
Alhassan Mankuyeli put Samartex ahead just three minutes into the second half, but Joseph Esso’s equalizer in the 70th minute earned Dreams FC a hard-fought point.
The defending champions now find themselves winless in their last five home matches, putting their title defense in jeopardy. They currently sit in 10th place with 23 points, 11 behind league leaders Asante Kotoko.
Despite the draw, Dreams FC have slipped back into the relegation zone and will host Basake Holy Stars in their next match.
Samartex will travel to Bibiani Gold Stars for their next league fixture as they look to revive their title challenge.
