The Phobians delivered a lackluster performance, failing to show urgency or creativity despite enjoying 64% possession. They registered just one shot on target from 11 attempts, while Karela managed three efforts without troubling goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
The result sees Hearts remain fifth on the Ghana Premier League table with 42 points, now trailing league leaders Gold Stars by 11 points. Their inability to create and finish chances once again proved costly, raising concerns ahead of next weekend’s highly anticipated Super Clash against Asante Kotoko.
Karela United, meanwhile, will take encouragement from the point gained. The hard-fought draw lifts them out of the relegation zone and provides a platform to build on when they face Dreams FC in their next match.
