Young Apostles and FC Samartex played out an entertaining 1-1 draw on matchday 28 of the Ghana Premier League at the Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
The league newcomers looked poised for back-to-back wins when Fosu Kyei fired them into the lead in the 69th minute. However, their advantage was short-lived as Samartex defender Emmanuel Mamah rose highest to nod in the equalizer just eight minutes later.
Samartex, the defending champions, dominated the opening half but were unable to capitalize on their chances. Despite falling behind, the Timber Giants showed resilience to claw their way back into the game.
The draw means both teams maintain their pre-match positions on the league table. Young Apostles remain 13th with 34 points, while Samartex stay fifth, eight points ahead of their hosts.
Young Apostles will travel to face Medeama in their next fixture, while Samartex prepare to host Basake Holy Stars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.
