Giyasu Ibrahim and Muhammed Hamza grabbed a goal apiece to fire Karela United to a 2-0 win over Legon Cities at University of Ghana Stadium.

After making a positive start to the contest, Legon Cities were given the chance to avail themselves on the slashing board - breaking the deadlock through Giyasu, who steered a well turned pass - nicking a low shot with his left foot past Kwame Aziz to score his first Premier League goal.

Super sub, Muhammed Hamza, who climbed off the bench in the 70th minute - subsequently doubled Karela’s tally in the 88th minute to send the home fans into a frenzy mood of silence.

Paa Kwasi Fabin’s side were unable to produce a response and their frustration ultimately boiled over in the 90th and 92nd minutes when two of their lads received yellow cards.

There was still time left in the contest for Karela to add a third goal in stoppage time, rounding off a first win for Jimmy Cobblah’s side.

While Karela celebrate their first win of the season, Legon Cities are still searching for their first three maximum points after suffering a third defeat in the top flight.
