Medeama SC have finally dropped points this season after being held by Heart of Lions to a goalless draw in a herculean clash at the new TnA Stadium on Saturday evening.
Both teams headed into the game looking for nothing but a win but it finished with no goal registered as they all managed to preserve their unbeaten start to the campaign.
It was the Mauves and Yellows who started well and came so close to scoring in the early stages but a great defensive work from Lions captain Ebenezer Abban rescued the situation.
The visitors nearing the 15th minute mark began finding their rhythm in and were putting up some sumptuous passes together and were gradually exhibiting readiness.
Kwadwo Obeng Jr with a strong hit that was directed at goal but a great reaction from goalkeeper Appiah Kubi saved the hosts as it resulted into a wasted corner kick.
After a goalless first half, the Giant Killers came in stronger as midfielder Christian Boateng weaved his way through and sent a belter but went wide.
The 2023 champions played their hearts out and attacked from all angles having fired from different cylinders but goalkeeper Lawrence Osei was always equal to the task and pulled some huge stops to keep his side in the game.
Goalless it remained until full time as Medeama SC's winning streak is finally halted and will host champions FC Samartex next in what will be a crunchy encounter.
However, Heart of Lions are still unbeaten but have drawn their last three games and will definitely target a win when they welcome newbies Vision FC to Kpando in the next round of matches.
