Prince Tweneboah scored twice in stoppage time to help Abdulai Gazale’s Holy Stars come from behind to beat Accra Lions 2-1 at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in the Ghana Premier League.

 

The Anyinase based side dominated the contest throughout, but they entered the half-time interval behind after their goalkeeper Dubi Kassi Tayi scored an own-goal after a mishap. 

 

It was one-way traffic in Holy Stars favour for the majority of the second half, but it looked as if the Premier League toddlers would not break down Accra Lions stubborn defence, with Accra Lions goalkeeper Kwadwo Bonsu frustrating the hosts with 15 saves.

 

However, 18-year-old Prince Tweneboah came to the rescue for Holy Stars to turn the game on its head in dramatic fashion as he scored in unorthodox fashion in the 64th. 

 

After scoring his first with Holy Stars 15 attempts on goal, Tweneboah triggered pandemonium at Crosby Awuah Memorial Park with his winning goal in the 93rd minute. 

 

Holy Stars three-game winless run has now come to an end and they have climbed up to 10th with 12 points in the Ghana Premier League table, while Ibrahim Tanko’s Accra Lions have suffered their third defeat away from home this season and lurks on 16th with 8 points in the standings.
