Young Apostles staged a thrilling late comeback to defeat Berekum Chelsea 2-1 in a dramatic Ghana Premier League clash at the Wenchi Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

The visitors made a strong start and took an early lead in the 6th minute through Kwesi Sorotu Badori, who calmly finished off a swift attacking move to put Berekum Chelsea ahead.

Despite dominating stretches of the game and pushing for an equalizer, the Apostles found it difficult to break down a well-organized Chelsea defense.

The breakthrough finally came in the 88th minute when Hussein Issah found space in the box to slot home the equalizer, sparking wild celebrations among the home fans.

The drama was far from over, however. In added time, forward Emmanuel Kyei completed the comeback with a clinical finish, handing Young Apostles a crucial three points and their eighth win of the campaign.

The win moves the Wenchi-based side to 13th on the table with 33 points, just two points above the relegation zone, as they continue their fight for survival.

Berekum Chelsea, meanwhile, remain in 10th position with 35 points, missing the chance to climb higher after conceding two late goals in a game they had largely controlled.

Young Apostles will now look to build on this morale-boosting victory as the season heads into its final stretch.
