Nations FC entertain Bechem United at home on Sunday in what promises to be an exciting return of the 2024-24 Ghana Premier League.

Coach Kassim Mingle will be aiming to emerge victorious against his former club. The highly anticipated match takes place at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex on Sunday, September 8, 2024, with kick-off set for 3 PM.

MATCH PREVIEW:

Nations FC impressed at the start of last season but faltered in the heat of the title race, eventually won by FC Samartex 1996.

Despite finishing in seventh place, the club's determination and strategic signings have positioned them well for the upcoming campaign.

They ultimately finished in seventh place on the Ghana Premier League table with 49 points, falling 12 points behind the eventual champions, FC Samartex.

Eager to improve their performance, the club has strengthened its squad with new signings for the upcoming season.

Bechem United also finished tenth on the league log with 47 points, two points behind Nations FC and they will be aiming to improve on their tenth-place finish.

Both teams enter this matchup on equal footing, as their recent head-to-head encounters have produced close contests.

TEAM NEWS

Nations lost captain Emmanuel Boahen and Michael Awuah and their top scorer Asamoah Boateng Afriyie last season, who scored 11 goals to Hearts of Oak, but they are ready for life without the marksman.

Bechem United also lost defender Samuel Osei Kuffour to Nations FC as well as youngster Clinton Duodu to Apollon Limasol.

However, the Hunters are boosted by the return of club legend Augustine Okrah, who was the club's top scorer last term before his move to Tanzanian giants Young Africans FC.

Both teams have no injury situations at camp ahead of the blockbuster on Sunday.
