Having faced two of Ghana Premier League's most potent powerhouses in their first two games of the season, Vision FC face a friendlier fixture on Saturday, when Legon Cities head to Tema New Town.

The Ewoo Boys don’t have any mistakes to rectify after shrugging Accra Lions aside on Monday in match-day two, while Paa Kwasi Fabin’s men succumbed to a 1-0 defeat away at Medeama.

Match Preview

Only if Asante Kotoko were visiting Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports turf this weekend could Nana Agyeman’s side have been handed a tougher start to life in the Ghana Premier League, having been forced to pit their wits against Berekum Chelsea and Accra Lions in their first two competitive battles of 2024-25.

After their Ewoo slogan was nearly  made Ofain3, meaning please, in a 0-0 goalless draw to the Bibires, Vision were left on cloud nine at the Accra Sports Stadium when Elijah Addai opener and Emmanuel Kyei Baffour’s goal inspired them to a 2-0 win against their much more experienced top flight opponents.

With no losses to show from their opening two bouts of 2024-25, Vision now endeavour to avoid an unwanted first under Nana Agyemang, who is yet to be flip-bounced and baptized with the Chemu Lagoon.

On the other hand, Legon Cities have been consigned to an early loss versus a Bibiani Gold Stars outfit - going down 2-1 in the season's maiden match. However, Fabin’s troops failed to make amends as they continued with their losing streak when they travelled to Tarkwa to take on top tier foes - Medeama, being stunned 1-0 at the ever stunning TnA Stadium.

Team News

No Vision FC player has reported any physical problems from the Berekum Chelsea draw or Accra Lions win, leaving none of their players in the medical bay.

Likewise, no Legon Cities player is currently sidelined, the Cities medical staff have been able to put their feet up in the early stages of the campaign, as Fabin’s men should have a clean bill of health once again this weekend.

Vision FC possible starting lineup: Abraham (GK) (C); Addai, Alidu, Appiah, Asante, Issifu, Mensah, Musah, Rhule, Teyechu, Yemoh.

Legon Cities possible starting lineup: Bonsu (GK); Remember, Amakye, Apiiga, Awoute, Hamzata, Mohammed (C), Nwafor, Paaku, Tahiru, Taylor

We say: Vision 2-1 Legon Cities

A refreshed set of Cities legs should not suffer a similar humiliation after their Medeama woes, but Fabin’s men are noticeably frail at the back and will certainly leave gaps for Vision to exploit if they adopt a risky approach.

Nana Agyemang’s settled starting XI have had time to gel and were worthy winners over one experienced top tier side on Monday, so we expect the Ewoo to prolong Cities' wait for a first point of 2024-25.
