Two teams seeking to return to winning ways after suffering one defeat and two draw stalemate each’ square off at Wenchi Stadium on late Sunday afternoon as Young Apostles play host to Aduana Stars.

These two sides have not met in a top flight game before.

Match Preview

Young Apostles were one of the Ghana Premier League clubs, along with Aduana, who entered the season without a single win on the board after losing their opening match of the new season to Nsoatreman, and going ahead to draw with Nations FC and Asante Kotoko.

Apostles head coach Asare Bediako now finds himself under pressure to turn the club's fortunes around, with recent reports claiming that the experienced tactician could lose his job if results do not improve.

The Agya Na )w) Tumi have four games to prepare for next month and Bediako will be targeting positive results from each of those, with Sunday’s clash at home to Aduana - who have been far from convincing at the start of this term - followed by fixtures against basement club Berekum Chelsea, Hearts of Oak, Accra Lions and South-coast side Dreams FC.

After posting two draws and suffering one disappointing defeat in their opening three Ghana Premier League matches, it is fair to say that Aduana have shown no signs of a major revival under the tutelage of manager Yaw Acheampon since he was spared the axe by Nana Agyemang Badu and co last summer.

The Fire Boys followed up an unconvincing 1-1 stalemate at home to Heart of Lions with a goalless stalemate at Bechem United, before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Nations FC at Nana Agyemang Badu Park in their most recent match last weekend.

With pressure beginning to mount on Yaw Acheampong once again, the former Ghana International has insisted that the outside noise "doesn't impact" him and that Aduana’s season should be 'judged in June next year' and not after just three league games in August.

Yaw Acheampong will hope that his side can put things right in Sunday’s favourable-looking fixture at Wenchi Sports Stadium.

Team News

Young Apostles will go into this game with all their players as none of their lads are embroiled in uncertainty, expecting to be a thorn in the flesh for the Fire Boys.

On the other hand, Yaw Acheampong’s men emerged unscathed, where he will unleash all his key players who return to the starting XI and might do the job for him on Sunday, September 29.

Young Apostles possible starting lineup:
Ofosu (GK), Aboubakar, Afram, Amegbe, Huseine, Kontor, Lomotey, Muftaw, Muntalla, Rahman, Suleiman (C).

Aduana Stars possible starting lineup:
Inusah (GK); Abu Adams, Sam Adams (C), Amoako, Boakye, Mahama, Marfo, Mensah, Sackey, Silas, Tetteh.

We say: Young Apostles 2-1 Aduana Stars

Both teams find themselves under pressure to turn their fortunes around at this early stage in the season following underwhelming starts, and they will back themselves to come away from this fixture with a positive result.

A tight affair is in store on Sunday, but we are backing Young Apostles to come away with a slender victory on this occasion.
