Asante Kotoko will look to tighten their grip on their unbeaten run when they welcome league leaders Aduana FC to the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, November 16, for a highly-anticipated 2025/26 Ghana Premier League showdown.

The Porcupine Warriors head into the match after settling for a goalless draw away to Vision FC in Wednesday’s outstanding Matchweek 7 fixture in Tema - a result that maintained their status as the only unbeaten side in the league. Kotoko have now recorded four wins and three draws from seven matches, leaving them with two outstanding games still to play.

Aduana FC, meanwhile, continue to set the early pace in the Ghanaian top flight. The Ogya Boys have picked up six wins, one draw, and two defeats from nine games, and they too have an outstanding fixture in hand as they sit at the summit of the table.

Match Preview

This clash brings together two sides operating in contrasting yet intriguing positions on the league log. Asante Kotoko occupy 7th place with 15 points, though with two games in hand their current standing may not reflect their true trajectory. Abdul Karim Zito's men have been defensively solid, conceding only three goals, though their attack has shown flashes of inconsistency.

Aduana FC, however, sit top of the 18-club Premier League table with 19 points and have built a killer drive through a balanced blend of efficiency in their opponent's goal. Their ability to grind out results, particularly in tight matches has been central to their early-season success.

Matches between these two sides have historically produced dramatic, high-energy encounters, and with Kotoko eager to close the gap on the leaders, Sunday’s fixture promises to be another fiery nerve cracker at Baba Yara.

Team News

Asante Kotoko

Kotoko are expected to maintain much of the side that featured in midweek, with no fresh injury concerns reported after the draw against Vision FC. Morifing Donzo is likely to spearhead the attack once again, while captain Samba Gilbani should marshal the defence. Saaka Dauda and Peter Amidu Acquah are also pushing to retain their places in the front line as Zito targets a more clinical advantage at home.

Aduana FC

Aduana FC head into the fixture with a largely fit squad. Forward Daouda Sidibe, who has been in sharp form is expected to lead the line, supported by Emmanuel Marfo and Mezack Afriyie. Captain Alex Boakye returns to command the back three, while the midfield quartet of Anponsa, Arthur, Badu and Saana should remain unchanged after a strong collective showing in recent weeks.

We say: Asante Kotoko 2-2 Aduana FC

This top-of-the-table clash has all the ingredients of a high-quality, evenly poised battle. Kotoko should benefit from the home crowd and their unbeaten confidence, while Aduana’s attacking trident has shown enough potency to trouble any defence in the league.

We predict Morifing Donzo to open the scoring for Kotoko, with Hubert Gyau adding a second from midfield. Aduana FC are tipped to respond through Daouda Sidibe, who may capitalise on a counterattack, before Emmanuel Marfo grabs a late equaliser to ensure the league leaders return to Dormaa with a valuable point.
