Berekum Chelsea fought back to earn a 1–1 draw against Young Apostles FC in their Matchweek 24 game of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the Golden City Park on Sunday afternoon.

It was an highly competitive match, and the Apostles of Ghana football took the lead shortly after half-time. Midfielder Richmond Opoku scored in the 52nd minute, finishing a good team move to surprise the Bibires fans and give Young Apostles the advantage.

Berekum Chelsea responded by attacking more and putting the visitors under pressure as the second half continued. The home side kept more of the ball and sent crosses into the box, but clear scoring chances were limited because Young Apostles defended well.

As the game went deep into added time, it looked like the Apostles would take all three points. But Chelsea kept pushing until the final moments.

In the 90+14th minute, defender Benjamin Abaidoo scored a late equaliser, bringing joy to the home supporters. His last-minute goal meant both teams shared the points and stopped Young Apostles from claiming an important away win.

The draw moves Berekum Chelsea up to 15th place with 28 points as they try to move further away from the relegation zone. Young Apostles FC are now 17th with 27 points and remain in the fight to avoid relegation.
