League leaders Aduana Stars got held by Medeama SC in a very fascinating encounter at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium in match-day 9 clash of the Ghana Premier League.
Dubbed ‘The Top of Table’ clash, this was definitely one of the top liners of the week and received a very huge anticipation and was definitely an exciting where the game produced everything except a goal.
Aduana Stars started the game on a higher note with incessant pressure in search of the opener with their closest on goal coming in the 9th minute from Seidu Saana but his strike was parried away by goalkeeper Felix Kyei.
Medeama SC also settled down well despite a slow start and also made incursions and nearly pounced on Sana’a mistake but a great tackle from Anokye Badu in the 17th minute saved the situation for the host.
The homesters finally scored in the dying embers of the first half through Ben Sidibe but was flagged off for an offside as it finished goalless at half-time
Back from recess, both teams returned exactly from they left and began taking the game at each other with series of attacks but none could get them a goal in the early stages.
Prince Owusu broke on a deadly counter break but a great defensive work from Abubakar Adams saved the homesters once again.
The Mauves and Yellows were awarded a free kick in the final minutes of the game but Godknows Dzakpasu had his free-kick gone off the crossbar. It finished goalless after full-time
Aduana Stars maintain their top-spot after the draw and will play as guests to Asante Kotoko next.
Medeama SC will also play as guests to Eleven Wonders in the next round of matches
