Vision FC displayed remarkable resilience as they came from behind with ten men to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Eleven Wonders in their matchweek nine encounter of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex in Tema Newtown on Saturday afternoon.
Despite going down early and being reduced to ten men in the first half, the Eewoo Boys dug deep to clinch all three points in front of their home crowd, with Meshack Sowah Adjetey emerging as the super-sub hero.
The match burst into life right from kickoff as Eleven Wonders stunned the hosts with an early strike. Midfielder Matthew Amponsah fired the visitors ahead in the 4th minute, unleashing a thunderous effort from open play that flew past goalkeeper Kwame Aziz into the net, a goal worthy of highlight reels.
But Vision FC were quick to respond. Barely three minutes later, defender Emmanuel Sanja nod home the equalizer in the 7th minute, sending the home fans into raptures.
However, the game turned fiery in the 28th minute when Vision FC midfielder Kingsley Appiah, already on a yellow card, received his marching orders after a reckless tackle, leaving the hosts to play over an hour with ten men.
Despite the numerical disadvantage, coach Nana Agyemang’s men reorganized well, maintaining compact shape and looking dangerous on the counter. The Vision FC boss was forced into an early tactical reshuffle in the 37th minute, bringing on Meshack Sowah Adjetey and Nana Kwesi Amoah for Daniel Yemoh and Joseph Badu, a change that would later prove decisive.
The breakthrough came on the hour mark when substitute Adjetey found space nicked a strike beyond goalkeeper Stephen Ampaabeng, handing Vision FC a 2-1 lead that would ultimately stand as the winner.
From there, Eleven Wonders pushed forward with sustained possession, registering 58% of the ball, five corner kicks, and several half chances, but failed to make their dominance count. Vision’s defensive discipline, anchored by captain Kusi Nana Asante and Ridwan Ali, ensured the hosts held firm until the final whistle.
In the end, Vision FC’s determination shone through as they turned adversity into triumph. Meshack Sowah Adjetey’s second-half strike sealed a memorable win for the ten-man hosts, propelling them further to 10th on the league standings with 11 points and deepening Eleven Wonders’ early-season woes (17th on 2 points).
