Asante Kotoko recorded their second victory of the season with a precious 2-0 win over Bibiani GoldStars in a very epic game at the Baba Yara Stadium in an outstanding match-day 2 clash.
Two goals in each half from Peter Acquah Amidu and Albert Amoah were enough to hand the Porcupine Warriors all three points.
Bibiani GoldStars really made a very good start to the game and looked very well organized in all aspects giving Kotoko a good run for their money.
It took Kotoko just fifteen minutes to open the scoring account courtesy Peter Acquah Amidu after connecting at far post a decent Walid Neymar cross.
In the second half, the Miners returned on a blistering note and decided to use their flanks more but unfortunately Michael Nkoah was forced with injury which really affected them in the game.
In just five minutes from the start of the second half. Albert Amoah doubled the lead for Kotoko with a beauty of a goal after strucking from the edge of the box into the top corner beyond the reach of goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi.
Both teams in the remaining minutes took the game at each other and created additional chances but there was no goal produced as it finished 2-0 at full-time.
Asante Kotoko have two wins and a draw from three matches and will play away against Nations FC in the next round of matches.
Bibiani GoldStars will also travel to Vision FC in the next round of matches.
