Asante Kotoko are back on winning ways with a resounding 4-2 win over Karela United in a thrilling round eight clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors made a very explosive start to the game and attacked for the opening goal right from onset.
The homesters opened the scoring account in just six minutes from kickoff through Hubert Gyau who completed with a very cool finish.
Karela United equalized in the 17th minute courtesy Bless Ege’s penalty after Eric Antwi was fouled in the box by Mohammed Camara.
Five minutes later, Hubert Gyau scored a beauty with a fantastic hit from the edge of the box to restore the lead for Asante Kotoko before Seth Kwadwo added another twelve minutes later to increase the tally.
In the second half, Asante Kotoko still had total dominance on the game with Karela at certain point even struggling to get into their territory.
Peter Acquah Amidu continued with the riot after a brilliant goal in the 61st minute to extend a three-goal lead in the game.
With twenty minutes to ago, Yaya Rahman scored with a drive to reduce the deficit for the visitors as it finished 4-2 after full-time.
Asante Kotoko after the win have risen to the eighth position with 11 points and will face bitter rivals Hearts of Oak.
Karela United despite the defeat are in seventh place with 12 points and will host Dreams FC in the next round of matches.
