Berekum Chelsea brought an end to their three-game winless streak with a hard-earned 1-0 triumph over Vision FC at the Golden City Park on Sunday.
The Blues delivered a commanding performance, dictating the pace and showing more urgency for most parts of the encounter. However, their continued inefficiency in front of goal was evident once again, as they squandered several chances that could have made the scoreline more comfortable.
Seidu Abubakar emerged the hero of the afternoon, netting the game’s only goal to secure Chelsea’s second win of the campaign. His strike made him the club’s fifth different scorer this season — a reflection of the team’s collective effort but also their ongoing search for a consistent goal-getter, having scored just five times in eight league outings.
The much-needed victory lifts Samuel Boadu’s men to eight points, relieving some of the pressure on the head coach after a difficult run of results. Chelsea will look to build on the momentum when they travel to Kpando to take on Heart of Lions in their next fixture.
For Vision FC, the defeat marked their second consecutive loss and another disappointing result away from home. They remain level on eight points with Chelsea but sit a place higher in 12th position. The Accra-based side will be hoping for a response when they host Eleven Wonders next weekend.
