Berekum Chelsea handed their survival chances a huge boost with a huge win against champions Bibiani GoldStars at the Golden City Park on Sunday. 

Goals at either side of the half from Dominic Frimpong and Prince Anane ensured the hosts collected all three points in front of their teeming fans.

Chelsea started the game battling relegation after a poor first round to the season, but made sure it did not affect the team despite the pressure from their spporters.

The Blues dominated the early exchanges and after a neat clearance from the back, and a follow up from the other side, the ball fell to Chelsea's midfielder Frimpong outside the box, who delivered a ferocious strike to open the scoring after 12 minutes.

Chelsea maintained their composure and continued to test GodStars' defence, with waves and waves of attack.

However, after half an hour, the visitors began to settle with Bernard Kesse coming close just before half time.

After the break, the home side started just like the way they began the first half putting pressure on the Miners.

Four minutes later, Anane rose high to head home from a perfectly taking cross from the right to double the advantage.

Frimpong, who netted the opening goal was forced off with an injury, but that did not affect the team as Samuel Boadu replaced the midfielder with Johnson Amuzu.

GoaldStars began to chase the game but Chelsea were resolute in defence, ensuring to secured victory and boost their chances of remaining in the league.
