Bibiani Goldstars produced a commanding performance to secure a 3-1 victory over Heart of Lions in their Matchweek 6 clash of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League at Dun’s Park on Monday afternoon.
The Miners looked sharp and dangerous throughout the match, with midfielder Richard Kotey Amon breaking the deadlock in the 38th minute.
After the break, Sampson Eduku doubled the advantage for Goldstars in the 54th minute, finishing off a well-worked move to the delight of the home supporters.
Heart of Lions pulled one back just five minutes later through Kwadwo Obeng Junior, who calmly slotted home to give the visitors a lifeline in the 59th minute.
However, Bibiani Goldstars restored their two-goal cushion late on when Samuel Atta Kumi confidently converted from the spot in the 82nd minute, sealing a deserved win for the hosts.
Statistically, Goldstars shaded the encounter despite enjoying less of the ball, as they registered 49% to Lions’ 51%, with nine total shots (four on target) and one corner. The Miners maintained discipline throughout, finishing the match without a single booking.
Heart of Lions, meanwhile, managed 10 shots (five on target) and seven corners, but their aggression cost them, as they ended the game with four yellow cards.
The win sees Bibiani Goldstars continue their strong form at home as Heart of Lions endure yet another frustrating away day.
