Bibiani Goldstars interim head coach Nana Yaw Amankwah has called on his side to maintain their momentum and strive for further improvement following their 3-1 victory over Heart of Lions at Dun’s Park on Monday afternoon.
The Miners battled back from a slow start in the Week Six encounter, where the visitors threatened early on before goals from Richard Kotey Amon, Sampson Eduku, and Samuel Atta Kumi sealed an emphatic home win.
Reflecting on the performance, Amankwah praised his players for their response after a shaky opening half but urged them to stay focused and build on the result.
“You could see that in the first half, the first 15 minutes, Heart of Lions were up, and they missed a lot of chances. We came in and we dominated the game, and that's how we were able to score three,” Amankwah told stated after the match.
The Bibiani Goldstars coach, however, insists there is still work to be done.
“There is room for improvement. We will continue to work hard, and we know if we do well, we can win that game.”
Goldstars latest win lifts them to seventh on the Ghana Premier League table with nine points and one outstanding fixture to play, while Heart of Lions drop to fourth with 11 points as they remain in search of consistency after suffering their first defeat of the season.
