Swedru All Blacks got back to winning ways with a hard-fought 1–0 home win over FC Samartex in matchweek 22 of the Ghana Premier League at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It was a tight and competitive game, but the Black Magicians showed strong determination to overcome a tough Samartex side and earn an important three points in front of their home fans.
Swedru All Blacks started the match brightly, controlling the tempo and pressing high as they looked to respond after a poor run of form that had seen them win only once in their last seven games. They showed good energy early on, although clear chances were limited by Samartex’s organised defence.
The decisive moment came in the 75th minute, when defender Zayat Bubakari calmly scored from the penalty spot as he gave the hosts a valuable lead.
After taking the lead, Coach Kasim Mingles side defended strongly in the closing stages. FC Samartex pushed forward in search of an equaliser and put All Blacks under pressure, but the Black Magicians stayed solid and protected their advantage until the final whistle.
The win is Swedru All Blacks seventh of the season, leaving them with seven wins, six draws and nine defeats after 22 matches. They move up to 10th place on the league table with 27 points.
On the other hand, coach Chris Ennin's FC Samartex, remain on 35 points from nine wins, eight draws and eight losses, but drop to sixth place, missing a chance to move higher up the standings.
