Emmanuel Annor’s 85th minute equalizer prevented Nations FC from their fourth defeat of the season after playing out a pulsating 1-1 draw against Hohoe United.
The opening game of match-day 9 saw everything at the Dr. Kwame Sports Complex with both teams coming out openly at each other but unfortunately none could claim maximum points in the end.
The newbies gave a very good account of themselves having started the game on a blistering note and defended very well as well.
Despite Nations FC also making a good start, it was Hohoe United who opened the scoring account in the 27th minute through Sena Ati who finished off calmly after a beautiful low grounder from skipper Sufian Usman.
In the second half, the homesters bounced back on a good note and created some chances in the early stages but their efforts weren’t strong enough to trouble goalkeeper Kweku Musah.
Nations FC never gave up and kept on with the incessant pressure which eventually got the leveller in the 85th minute through Emmanuel Annor as it finished 1-1 after full-time.
The Eagles after the draw will remain in 11th place with 10 points and will travel to Berekum Chelsea in the next round of matches.
Hohoe United are also in 10th place with the same points and will travel to Dreams FC next.
