Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has made his intentions clear ahead of Sunday’s blockbuster Ghana Premier League showdown with Accra Hearts of Oak, insisting his only goal is victory.

With the country bracing for another heated edition of Ghana’s biggest football rivalry, Zito cut a calm but confident figure as he outlined his mindset going into the game.

“My focus now is simply to win, not to prove a point,” Zito stated. “That said, beating Hearts would definitely give us a big morale boost. Nobody goes into a fight expecting to lose. Insha Allah, we’re going to win.”

The Porcupine Warriors have been sharpening their tactics all week in preparation for the highly anticipated fixture, with both teams eager to stamp their authority early in the season.

For Zito, who officially took charge of Kotoko this season, a victory over Hearts would not only energise his squad but also strengthen belief in his long-term vision for the club.

All roads lead to the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, where Ghana’s most storied clubs will renew their fierce rivalry in what promises to be a fiery and emotionally charged Matchday 9 encounter.
