Hohoe United revived their survival hopes with a determined 2-1 victory against Nations FC at the Hohoe Sports Stadium, bringing an end to an eight-match winless run in the Ghana Premier League.

Desperate to turn their fortunes around, the hosts made a blistering start. William Oduro opened the scoring just seven minutes in with a composed finish, before Lawson Bekui doubled the lead four minutes later to ignite early celebrations among the home fans.

The visitors gradually settled into the contest and reduced the deficit in the 36th minute through Raymond Oko Grippman, setting up a tense and competitive second half.

After the interval, Nations FC pressed hard for an equaliser, applying sustained pressure and probing for openings. However, Hohoe United stood firm, showing defensive organisation and resilience to protect their narrow advantage until the final whistle.

The victory provides a major lift in Hohoe’s fight to maintain their top-flight status and injects renewed confidence into their campaign.

For Nations FC, the loss continues a difficult run away from home, as they remain without an away win this season. They will aim to bounce back when they host Dreams FC in their next fixture.

Hohoe United, meanwhile, face a challenging test on the road against title-chasing Aduana Stars, knowing that another positive result could prove vital in their survival battle.
