Karela United deepened Vision FC’s struggles with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale on Sunday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League.
The decisive moment came shortly after the break when Malik Abubakar unleashed a powerful strike in the 56th minute, sealing all three points for the hosts and helping them bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Young Apostles.
The opening half was largely uneventful in terms of goals, but Karela United dominated possession and created the clearer chances. Bless Ege and Eric Antwi both went close as the home side pushed for an opener.
Vision FC struggled to impose themselves and failed to convert the few opportunities that came their way.
After the restart, Karela made their pressure count, with Abubakar striking decisively to break the deadlock and lift the home supporters.
Following his goal, Abubakar was withdrawn for Zaidan Mohammed, while Danlad Nuhu replaced Bless Ege. Nuhu’s afternoon was cut short by injury just minutes after coming on, forcing Karela to see out the game with renewed defensive discipline.
Despite the disruption, the hosts remained composed and held firm to secure a valuable home win.
