Karela United extend unbeaten run with another resounding 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in what was a very fascinating game at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

The Ghana Premier League week 13 clash in the Northern Region’s capital produced everything with both teams displaying some top level of football.

Both teams made a very explosive start but game had to stop to a cooling break at certain point due to the scorching sun.

It took the homesters only nineteen minutes to open the scoring account courtesy Eric Antwi Konadu who connected into the net from a teasing Fatawu Mohammed delivery after a big howler from goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi

Just on the stroke of half-time, Antwi Konadu scored again with a close range tap-in to hit brace and double his side’s lead in the game.

In the second half, the ‘Phobians’ returned on a good note with some incessant pressure on their host in search of the leveller.

Hamza Issah had some couple of chances fell on his way but failed to make it count with all their efforts proving futile. It ended 2-0 for the host after full-time.

Karela United have now moved to the eight position with 20 points and are now just two away from the top-four zone. They travel to Wenchi next to play Young Apostles.

However, this is Hearts of Oak’s second league defeat of the season and will host Nations FC next.
