Young Apostles and Berekum Chelsea shared the spoils in a tightly-contested 1–1 draw in their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League match week seven encounter at the Wenchi Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts, affectionately known as "Agya Na Ɔwɔ Tumi", came into the game riding a strong wave of form, while Chelsea arrived searching for stability after a difficult start to the campaign. What followed was a balanced matchup defined by tactical discipline and few clear-cut chances, ultimately decided by one goal at each end.

Berekum Chelsea struck first in the 35th minute through attacker Marvin Owusu, who showcased sharp movement and finishing instinct. Latching onto a clever delivery, Owusu calmly guided his effort past goalkeeper Zulka Masawudu, handing the visitors a confidence-boosting lead.

Young Apostles pushed for a response before the break but were held at bay by Chelsea’s compact defensive organization, marshalled effectively by captain Prince Anane and the experienced Richard Osei Agyemang.

However, the Apostles of Ghana football' persistence was rewarded after recess. In the 62nd minute, lively forward Huseine Issah restored parity, finishing off a flowing attacking sequence with precision to send the home crowd into gaga. The goal shifted the spark briefly in favor of the Agya Na Ɔwɔ Tumi boys, who pressed for a winner with greater urgency.

Despite late attacking surges from both sides, neither team found the decisive touch, and the match drew to a competitive but fair stalemate.

The draw sees Young Apostles rise to 8th place on the table with 11 points, consolidating their competitive start to life in the ongoing campaign.

Meanwhile, Berekum Chelsea remain 15th with 5 points, still searching for their second win of the season, having now recorded one win, two draws, and four losses across their opening seven rounds of matches.

Young Apostles will look to rediscover their winning groove in their next outing as they will travel to Bibiani to face Goldstars, while Berekum Chelsea will host Vision FC at the Golden City Park as they continue their quest to rise from the lower reaches of the standings.
