Medeama SC strengthened their grip on the Ghana Premier League title race with a 2-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars at the TnA Stadium in round 31.

It was a high-intensity top-of-the-table clash, with both sides showing intent and urgency, but Medeama proved more clinical in key moments.

Salim Adams opened the scoring in the 21st minute from the penalty spot after Medeama were awarded a spot-kick.

Just on the stroke of half-time, Salim doubled the advantage on with a stunning free-kick to cap a dominant first-half display and secure the cushion.

The second half saw both teams push for goals, with GoldStars attempting to get back into the contest while Medeama looked to extend their lead, but neither side was able to find the net again.

The victory sees Medeama SC extend their lead at the top of the table to five points, significantly boosting their chances of clinching the league title.

The Mauve and Yellows will now turn attention to their next fixture against Berekum Chelsea.

Despite the defeat, GoldStars remain second on the table and will look to bounce back when they host FC Samartex in their next game.
