The 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season commences this Friday, September 12, and President John Dramani Mahama will be gracing the event as the special guest of honour.
Eighteen (18) teams once again are set to battle for supremacy in what will be a very long campaign. While reigning champions Bibiani GoldStars look to defend their crown, other clubs also head in with so much determination and will all have their sights set on nothing but the ultimate.
Looking at the kind of recruitment and preparations made by these clubs especially from newbies like Sweden All Blacks and Hohoe United, it’s obvious that this season will be very fascinating and one of the best we will witness in recent years.
In a quest to create awareness and pushing the ‘bring back the love’ campaign, President of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama has given his word to the organizers as he will be attending the opening game at the Ohene Gyan Stadium between Hearts of Oak and newly-promoted side Hohoe United.
Among other activities that promises more fun on the day is that multiple award-winning Dancehall Artiste Stonebwoy will be performing live on the night -- a well-calculated attempt to drive thousands of supporters to the match venue.
The Black Starlets of Ghana are still in preparations towards the upcoming WAFU Zone B Championship and will warm themselves up with a friendly game against Auroras FC — in what will be the curtain raiser for the main event.
The game will kickoff at 19:00GMT (7:00pm) and will be live on Adesa Media Production Limited (TV3 and Onua TV)
