Berekum Chelsea were held to a 0-0 draw by FC Samartex 1996 at the Golden City Park on Sunday in Matchweek 8 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Bibires went into the match hoping to win their third consecutive league game after recording impressive victories over Debibi United and Heart of Lions.
However, they failed to score as Samartex defended well to earn a valuable point away from home.
Berekum Chelsea had scored five goals without conceding in their previous two matches and hoped to continue their good attacking form in front of their home fans.
This time, however, the hosts struggled to turn their chances into goals, while Samartex remained strong at the back to keep a clean sheet.
Samartex arrived in Berekum full of confidence after beating defending champions Medeama SC 2-1 in their Matchweek 7 game last Sunday.
The Timber Giants also continued their good recent record against Chelsea, extending their unbeaten run in the league fixture to six consecutive meetings.
The Samreboi-based side had avoided defeat in their previous two league visits to the Golden City Park, with both matches ending in goalless draws.
Sunday's result continued that trend, as Samartex once again stopped Berekum Chelsea from making the most of their home advantage.
For Berekum Chelsea, the draw ended their two-match winning run and denied them a third straight league victory.
Samartex, meanwhile, will be pleased with another strong defensive performance on the road.
The result leaves Samartex third in the league table with 15 points, while Berekum Chelsea sit 10th with 11 points after eight matches.
