Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Frederick Asare is the only home-based player to be included in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.

The stalwart goalie has been sensational since the start of the ongoing season and has currently cemented his position as coach Prosper Narteh Ogum's first-choice.

Having played 17 games this season, the former Black Satellites shot-stopper has kept 10 clean sheets and is most likely to increase the tally with three matches to spare.

The four-time African champions had what isn't an impressive start to the World Cup qualifiers having won against Madagascar but lost to Comoros in their second game and will hope to seek redemption this time around.

The team will open camp tomorrow, May 30, in Accra, and will play as guests to Mali in Bamako on June 6, before they host Central African Republic in Kumasi on June 10, 2024.
