The Phobians had a disappointing season last campaign amidst some underwhelming performances. The decision to replace Ocloo had been in the pipeline for weeks and the new head coach will need to buy into the new culture at the club.
We take a look at potential candidates to take over the hot seat at Hearts.
James Francis
Since assuming the role of a manager at Accra Lions FC, James Francis has gained a reputation as one of the best tactical brains in the league. Francis, already an icon at Accra Lions, clearly loves life at the club but you get the sense that in order to make the next step up in his managerial career, he needs a spell with a one of the big boys in the division.
Hearts, despite their abysmal performances last term, have oceans of potential and now bags of cash so they should do everything in power to lure Francis to the club. The ever-positive Francis boasts strong man-management skills and a preference for an attacking approach
Prosper Narteh Ogum
Given his incredible spell with Asante Kotoko, it is no surprise to see the lettered Ogum feature in this list. Having left the Porcupine Warriors after orchestrating their fine run of form that saw them winning the league and playing some eye-pleasing football, Ogum is enjoying a well- earned break, but the former WAFA and Kotoko manager is sure to relish a chance to show his managerial abilities, should the Hearts job come up.
Prosper Narteh Ogum will be a popular choice to fill the vacant position if fans’ forums are to be believed.
Charles K. Akonnor
The former manager of the Black Stars is among those highly tipped to take over the vacant position at the club. Having left the Black Stars after orchestrating a wonderful tenure at the helm, Akonnor is enjoying a well-earned break, but the former national star is sure to relish a chance to show his managerial abilities, should the Hearts job come up.
Akonnor will be making a return to the club he managed in 2012. Sadly, he lasted just eight months at the club.
