Asante Kotoko's Life Patron, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is set to convene a meeting with various stakeholders of the club, including players and the National Circles Council, the club's supporters group, as he prepares to unveil a new direction for the team in the coming days.
This move comes after the dissolution of the club's Board of Directors and management, whose three-year mandate came to an end at the conclusion of the season. Otumfuo expressed gratitude to Dr. Kwame Kyei, who led the board, and Nana Yaw Amponsah, who served as the CEO, while officially confirming the end of their tenure.
The club has faced recent struggles attributed to an unhealthy relationship between the board and management, which significantly affected their performance in the league.
According to Graphic Sports, the monarch's meeting with the major stakeholders of the club is scheduled for Friday, with the fanbase eagerly awaiting the announcement of a new set of board members and management team ahead of the new season.
The club hopes that the new authorities entrusted to lead the team will work diligently to improve upon their recent performances. Despite winning the Ghana Premier League two seasons ago, the Porcupine Warriors finished in fourth place, failing to meet expectations in both the CAF Champions League and MTN FA Cup.
As a result of their disappointing season, they parted ways with Burkinabe trainer Seydou Zerbo, who was tasked with defending the Ghana Premier League title.
The first important task for the yet-to-be-revealed administration will be to appoint a substantive coach for the upcoming season. The Kotoko faithful are keen to see the team return to its winning ways and compete at the highest level.
