Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdulai Gazale has admitted his side had a sloppy start against Aduana Stars but their response later in achieving the comeback was really brilliant and is something he is really elated with.

The Porcupine Warriors fought from a goal down to stun league leaders Aduana Stars by 2-1 in a Sunday night football at the Baba Yara Stadium to end two-game winless run.

Isaac Mintah opened the scoring account, was subsequently equalised by Steven Mukwala who got his 11th of the season, before Ivorian import Serge Zeze sealed the win with a second half beauty.

Reacting to the precious win, Gazale pinpoint reasons for their struggle at the start but added the three points was the most vital thing.

"I will say the players reacted very quickly though we started slowly."

"Technically we were doing everything right but individually Augustine wasn't able to defend Gyamfi well so we conceded an early goal but the players we were able to come back quickly and equalize. In fact they did everything we asked them to do at training."

"We have some little mistakes that we have to go back and correct but what we needed was the three maximum points and we had it."

Asante Kotoko despite the win still fall out of the top four though they are tied with fourth-placed and rivals Hearts of Oak on 42 points on the league table.

They will travel to Great Olympics in the next round of GPL matches.
