Abdulai Gazale has stepped down as head coach of Basake Holy Stars, with reports indicating he is set to be named assistant coach at Hearts of Oak ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The former Asante Kotoko interim boss tendered his resignation earlier this week, ending his tenure with the Nzema based side after a relatively short but impactful one season spell.
Gazale, who earned plaudits during his time with Kotoko in a caretaker capacity during the 2020/21 season, has remained a highly respected young figure in Ghanaian coaching circles.
MasUd Didi Dramani's takeover at the Phobian helm has opened the door for Gazale’s imminent appointment.
With a massive rebuild expected at Hearts of Oak after a turbulent 2024/25 campaign, Gazale’s arrival is seen as a strategic addition to bolster the technical team, led by head coach MasUd Didi Dramani.
The Phobians are eyeing a return to title contention, and Gazale's blend of youth development focus could be the missing piece in Hearts coaching puzzle.
