Accra Hearts of Oak have officially announced that Ivorian coach Aboubakar Ouattara has been reassigned to a new role as Special Advisor to the club’s Board of Directors.

The move follows the appointment of Mas-ud Didi Dramani as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

This clarification puts an end to widespread speculation that Ouattara was being considered for the role of Technical Director, following his 18-month stint as head coach.

“As a Special Advisor, Ouattara will be working directly with the Board of Directors on special assignments and duties,” a statement from the club explained.

Ouattara guided the Phobians to a fourth-place finish in the just-ended 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
