Hearts of Oak legend Mohammed Polo has voiced serious concerns about the leadership of current head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, following the club’s disappointing start to the Ghana Premier League season.

The Phobians suffered a shocking 1-0 home defeat to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars in their season opener, raising doubts about Ouattara's ability to guide the team to success.

Polo, a revered figure in Hearts of Oak's history, did not mince words in his criticism of the coach. He believes that Ouattara lacks the necessary control and spirit to take the club forward, pointing to last season’s close brush with relegation as evidence of his limitations.

In an interview with Bryt FM, Polo highlighted the coach's failure to boldly promise the league title before the season began, something he deems crucial for a club of Hearts of Oak's stature.

“Aboubakar Ouattara cannot help Hearts of Oak because he lacks control and the spirit to lead the club. He nearly took the team to relegation last season. He deserves to be sacked for not being able to promise the Premier League title this season,” Polo said.

As Hearts of Oak prepare for their next match against Heart of Lions, the pressure is mounting on Ouattara to deliver a swift turnaround in the club's fortunes. Failure to do so could further deepen the doubts surrounding his leadership.
