Aduana FC boss Cioba Aristica has apologised to supporters after his side slipped to a 1-0 defeat against Karela United on the opening weekend of the Ghana Premier League, but insists the setback can spark a positive response.

The Fire Boys were undone by an early strike from Malik Abubakar at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, and despite spells of possession, they rarely threatened to equalise.

Speaking after the game, the Romanian coach admitted disappointment with the result but vowed Aduana will bounce back.

“I apologise to the club fans for the defeat against Karela United. We are really sorry with the result,” Aristica remarked at the post-match conference

“It was our first game of the season and we needed to win to get off to a flying start, but it didn’t happen. It was a difficult game for us.”

Aduana now turn their attention to Nations FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park next weekend, where Aristica says his players will respond quickly.
