Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin, the head coach of Aduana Stars, has expressed his disappointment following their defeat to Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League.
Aduana Stars, who have won the league twice, lost 2-1 to the defending champions at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday evening.
Isaac Mintah scored the first goal for Aduana Stars in the 25th minute, but Ugandan striker Stephen Mukwala equalized for Kotoko in the 37th minute. After the break, Kotoko played with more urgency and Serge Zeze scored the winning goal in the 48th minute.
Fabin was worried that his team did not capitalize on their chances and missed out on a victory. He said, "I am worried. I thought we could have killed this game. We should have won by a lot of goals and we missed them all. This is association football. When you get the opponent and you don't kill him, he gets you and he punishes you for that."
Despite the loss, Aduana Stars still maintain their position at the top of the table with 47 points.
They will look to bounce back when they host Bibiani Gold Stars in their next match on matchday 28 at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park in Dormaa on Wednesday.
