Aduana Stars recorded an important 1-0 win over giants Hearts of Oak over the weekend at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium in match-day 13 of the Ghana Premier League.
It was really a very difficult game for the host until Bright Adjei found the back of the net on the 65th minute from a free kick and that was enough to hand them all three points.
The 'Ogya' lads were on a two-game losing streak in the league and really needed this win to redeem themselves and also maintain their top spot.
The win has seen them remain at the summit of the table with 24 points after 13 points, and are receiving a strong and firm chase from their Bono rivals Nsoatreman FC.
Reacting to the win, the experienced tactician admitted they had to win regardless following their recent string of poor results and he is super elated because they did exactly that.
"I wasn’t shocked. As I said earlier, I know if we keep to our game plan, we will have the day and I am happy we have the day. I think we’ve lost two at a row and it’s not good to lose three. So, it’s very important to us and I am happy we have the day."
Aduana Stars will face Nations FC in the next round of matches on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
