Former Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has questioned Otto Addo's decision to leave Samartex captain Emmanuel Keyekeh and Dreams FC In-form striker John Antwi out of the Black Stars squad.
Keyekeh has had a bright time since joining the Timber Giants in 2022, having scored five goals and made several assists from 25 games in the Ghana Premier League this season.
The box-to-box midfielder has also stolen the spotlight in numerous matches with his man-of-the-match displays.
Agyemang Badu is among pundits who have been impressed by Keyekeh's consistent performances at Samartex.
Unsurprisingly, Badu was baffled by Addo's decision not to include Keyekeh, Dreams FC's John Antwi and several other in-form players in his squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.
“Keyekeh has shown exceptional form this season. I expected both players to be included in the squad, particularly Antwi, given his outstanding performances,” the former Ghana midfielder told Onua TV.
Despite Badu's disappointment, he called for a massive support for the Black Stars ahead of the qualifiers; “It’s crucial to rally behind the team and avoid losses, especially with the pressure mounting from Comoros."
Personally for me as a football brainy, Otto Addo is clearly aware of Keyekeh's form, though. It seems that he just could not justify giving the former Asante Kotoko player a spot ahead of other options.
Ghana will play as guests to Mali on Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Stade 26 Mars in Bamako, kick-off slated for 19:00 GMT. The Black Stars will, then, host the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Monday, June 10, 2024.
