In an unexpected turn of events, the American Embassy has declined visa applications for several members of Ghana's Medeama Football Club, raising concerns about their upcoming match against DC United scheduled for Saturday.

Originally, the Ghanaian champions were set to depart for the United States of America on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, ahead of their Capital City Africa Cup match against DC United at the Audi Field in Washington DC.

However, Medeama FC now faces the challenge of finding alternative solutions to address the visa rejections and ensure they can fulfill their commitment to the friendly match.

Out of the 19 players and officials who submitted visa applications, only 13 have received the necessary approvals. Notably, among those denied entry into the United States are CEO Joseph Tetteh Zutah, Physio Abdul Osman, Board Member Maxwell Boakye, Kojo Allah, James Essirifi, and Vice President Rose Linnet Osei.

These unexpected visa rejections have placed Medeama FC in a precarious situation as they make preparations to face DC United. The absence of key team officials and board members could potentially impact the team's readiness and organizational efforts for the match.
