Debutant Joseph Amoah played a pivotal role in Legon Cities' victory over Karela United FC on the opening day of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League. 

The young defensive midfielder, who recently signed a two-year deal with the Royals, made his debut in the Legon Cities jersey, showcasing an impressive performance in midfield under Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin's guidance.

Amoah started the match and displayed his brilliance before being substituted in the 89th minute. The match saw Cities fall behind after Abdul Karim Ayeh's goal in the 43rd minute.

However, Frank Antwi equalized for the Royals in the 60th minute and went on to complete his brace with another goal in the 68th minute, securing the lead for Fabin's team.

The Benab Football Club and Sakafia Islamic Senior High School graduate is expected to play a crucial role in Legon Cities' pursuit of domestic and FA Cup glory this season.

Amoah's next challenge will be a regional derby against Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.
