Asante Kotoko have apologised to their fans after a series of poor results and the delay in naming a permanent head coach.

In a statement signed by Communications Director Sarfo Duku, the club admitted that recent performances have not met the expectations of supporters.

“The board and management… acknowledge the concerns raised by our supporters regarding the absence of a substantive head coach and the team’s recent poor results,” the statement said.

The club added that they understand the high standards expected of them and confirmed that work is ongoing to appoint a new head coach.

Kotoko officials said they are looking for a coach whose ideas and playing style match the long-term plans of the club. They also asked fans to be patient while the right appointment is made.

The club apologised again for their recent performances and promised to work hard to improve results and bring the team back to its usual strong level.

“The future of this club remains our top priority, and we are committed to making the right choices moving forward,” the statement added.

The apology comes during a difficult period for the Porcupine Warriors, who have struggled for consistency in the Ghana Premier League.

After a heavy 4-0 loss to Medeama SC last Sunday, Kotoko will now focus on their Matchday 30 game against Hohoe United before travelling to face Dreams FC in their next fixture.
