Asante Kotoko has been formally charged by the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee following allegations of threats and physical assault directed at match officials during their Matchday 12 encounter with Medeama SC.

According to a GFA statement, the club failed to provide adequate protection for the officials after unauthorized individuals gained access to Zone 2 during halftime. It was in this restricted area that the match officials allegedly faced intimidation and aggression—acts that breach the 2025 Enhanced Matchday Protocols.

The Porcupine Warriors have been given until Wednesday, December 3, to officially respond to the charges.

The incident stems from their Week 12 fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium, which ended in a 2-2 draw between Kotoko and Medeama.

Asante Kotoko SC have been charged with breaches of the Disciplinary Code, 2019 and the Enhanced Matchday Safety and Security Protocols, 2025, following their Ghana Premier League match against Medeama SC.

The Club is alleged to have failed to ensure the safety of the Match Officials by allowing unauthorised persons into Zone 2 (tunnel) at half-time, where the officials were threatened and attacked.

Asante Kotoko have until Wednesday, 03 December 2025, to respond to the charges.
