Asante Kotoko assistant head coach Prince Owusu has described the team’s current injury crisis as “hellish,” but remains confident that the Porcupine Warriors will overcome their challenges.

He made the comments during the post-match press conference after Kotoko battled back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Medeama at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Kotoko endured a difficult first half, conceding twice before launching a spirited comeback after the break. Captain Samba “O’Neil” Gilbani rescued a point for the Reds with a powerful header in the 92nd minute.

Reflecting on the game, Owusu said the result was not disappointing, especially given the team’s current struggles with injuries.

“There are a lot of injuries, and with the transfer window opening soon, we will be able to bring in some reinforcements. But I’m not disappointed,” he stated.

He noted that only one defeat this season—the loss at Basake—truly upset him, praising the players for maintaining strong performances despite the setbacks.

Owusu also highlighted the poor playing conditions at Basake, revealing that midfielder Joseph Ablorh had to be withdrawn after the warm-up to prevent injury.

“The turf at Basake is artificial. We had to take Ablorh out right after the warm-up to save him. We are going through hell, but we will survive,” Owusu added.
